Modern Romance And I'm back... Mature themes contained within, use discretion, etc. --- Sam was sixteen, and he loved a girl named Sara, and there was never a more perfect love. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, not skinny but not fat, and he wouldn’t have cared anyway. He loved her for her brain. Sara loved him but was afraid to tell him because she was sleeping with his brother, who was helping to support her crack habit. She normally took a couple hits before school, but Sam never had any idea. Sara had a sister named Annie, and she had a thing for Sam, but he didn’t know. Annie rarely spoke to him or anyone else. Every other weekend, her stepfather was raping her, and it had caused her to be rather withdrawn. Eric was struggling with homosexual feelings for his best friend Kent, but never told anyone because Kent was from Alabama and would be sure to beat the hell out of him if he ever found out. Kent, meanwhile, was sleeping with Sara, who was nothing but a two-bit whore with a bad habit. Kent had the claps, but he hadn’t told anyone yet. Maybe he never would. One day, Sam walked in on Kent and Sara. He picked up a baseball bat and smashed Kent’s skull, all the while professing his love for Sara. Eric heard the commotion over the television and walked upstairs to see what was going on. He walked in just as Sam’s bat was crushing Kent’s head. He walked downstairs, opened the kitchen cabinet, pulled out the gun inside, and blew his brains out. The next day at school, the police questioned Annie. She said she didn’t really know Sam. She didn’t tell them about her stepfather. Sam went to juvenile detention until he was old enough to stand trial as a man. When he turned eighteen and went to the stand to testify, all he could talk about was his angel Sara. Sara would’ve been flattered, but she couldn’t hear him. His angel was at home, taking another hit. |
